Welcome to the Annual Meeting of Life Sciences Switzerland 2015 in Zürich at the Campus Irchel of the University of Zürich.

The conference spans over two days with the general topic of "Light- from the basis of life to life science technologies". Not only will the meeting host internationally renowned plenary speakers from Europe and the US, also the national Swiss Societies of Molecular and Cell Biology, Experimental Pharmacology, Anatomy, Histology and Embryology as well as Physiology will organize symposia presenting cutting-edge research from their field. Guest societies of the LS2 AM 2015 will be the Swiss Society for Neurosciences. Besides our scientific program, numerous career-development a well as educational programs targeted at a younger audience will help you to advance your career within the academic world our in a non-academic field. For Bachelor and Master students, the session "Doing a PhD in Switzerland" will provide insight into the exciting world of academic research on a doctorate level. The session "Women in Science" is dedicated to getting an overview of the opportunities and programs that exist to pursue both an academic career and found a family. In the session "Publishing in the 21st century" we are expecting an exciting debate between traditional publishing houses and newly emerged open access journals. For young researchers who would like to start an own lab, the session "Tomorrow's PIs-the future of Swiss research" offers a platform to present their future research project and the opportunity to win an award. Speaking of awards: the best posters will be awarded a prize, so be sure to submit your poster abstract through our website! Poster sessions will be accompanied by a band and an apéro. Last but not least, there is a big industry fair in the main hall with exhibitors from all over Europe presenting their latest technologies or services. Make sure to visit the industry exhibition because our partners greatly contribute to the success of the meeting.
